Immunity is the fourth studio album by English electronic musician and producer Jon Hopkins. It was released on 3 June 2013 by Domino Records to critical acclaim and was nominated for the 2013 Mercury Prize for best album. Among the artists that contributed vocals were long-time collaborator King Creosote, and Corin Roddick and Megan James of the band Purity Ring. It was recorded and produced in Hopkins's London studio, with Hopkins often using homemade sound effects or the natural sound of the room. Inspired by the arc of an epic night out, the album peaks with Collider, a huge, apocalyptic, techno monster and dissolves with the quiet, heartbreakingly beautiful closer, Immunity, a track featuring vocals from King Creosote which could sit comfortably alongside the gems of their Mercury-nominated collaboration, Diamond Mine. On Immunity, electronic music producer Jon Hopkins focuses in on the worlds of house and techno, fusing the characteristics of these genres with some pretty atmospheric and grandiose keyboards. Jon Hopkins has hovered around the edges of dance and indie rock for several years, playing with Brian Eno, Coldplay, and King Creosote- and even seeming to take a backseat on his own records. But Immunity, the producer's breakthrough fourth album, bounds and writhes with its own life force. Stream Immunity, a playlist by Jon Hopkins from desktop or your mobile device. I was blown away to find this mixed in with the Rock section last week... for 10 bucks! Cheap because disc 2 had some gunk on it; but I was able to remove said gunk successfully today with a few spins in the washer and some Goo Gone! Didn't hear anything but music.I have some crackle here & there (usually at the beginning of a side), but overall -- flawless. Amazing, achingly beautiful album, too. Especially that singing in the background of the title track... Chills. This one and Singularity really connected with me this year.
Excellent pressing of a truly outstanding album! Highly recommended LP
This is *such* a good pressing. Do agree that the Domino releases I have so far whether it be Hot Chip or Jon Hopkins, they sound absolutely amazing. Highly recommended.

Domino rules, check the Wild Beasts vinyl, fantastic pressings, dynamic, wideness, best label on vinyl so far
Is anyone elses pressing extremely noisy? the first 2 sides had a lot of crackle on the outer edgy then sort of quieted down by the end. SIDE C is INSANELY noisy, The quietest track Abandoned window is basically ruined by the noise.
My copy sounds pretty great to be honest. Even when listening through headphones it does not seem that noisy.
My pressing sounds extremely crappy as well. a lot of surface noise and soft crackles. Definitely the worst pressing of an album I've ever heard. I have 45+ year olds scratched vinyl that sounds better than this release.
One of the greatest electronic records of the past five years
This album is Mental.Pressing is excellent, tooGo and buy this insane piece of music
The title track is simply a masterpiece. An album that just gets better and better with each listen. Stunning!
I got some slightly different matrix code on my pressing and also a missprint on side BDetails here :Matrix / Runout (Side A, hand-etched): BD07971-01 A2 WIGLP298A2 Guy's ELECTRICMatrix / Runout (Side B, hand-etched): BD07971-01 B2 WIGLP298B2 Guy's ELECTRICMatrix / Runout (Side C, hand-etched): BD07971-02 C2 WIGLP298C2 Guy's ELECTRICMatrix / Runout (Side D, hand-etched): BD07971-02 D2 WIGLP298D2 ST (upside down ?)There is also a missprint on my version on LP1, I have the same sticker for A and B (We Disapear / open Eye signal)Should this be considered an alternate version ? Barcode is the same : 887828029815
You must have got my label sticker and I got yours. Both of mine say Breathe This Air Collider
I also have the same for the Matrix/Runout, apart from B Side and D Side are slightly different (no "Guy's ELECTRIC" for me). I also do not have this misprint for the stickers on the record. I think the x2 records are a repressing, however there is no word online that this ever happened so it's hard to say. Once I've checked the record fully, I may make another listing for this as I've just gotten it today. For reference, I purchased my copy of Immunity from FOPP in London (which I think is just a re-branded HMV).
I purchased it directly from Am*zon.fr about 3 month ago.
Out of curiosity, and because it may be helpful, where did you purchase it from?
I found Jon Hopkins by accident...and kept gravitating towards this album time and time again. Finally I bought the LP and had my mind blown once more. Everything this artist touches is pure quality. If your disappointed in your buy I'd love to have a second for educational purposes; this is how an album is made!
This has become one of my Top Electronic Albums in the past years. And as driverdj2000 already said, the vinyl is absolute 1st class pressing. Sounds absolutely fab. Top inner sleeves as well.
I have over 1700 records in my collection and this pressing is by far the best of them all. Cleanest virgin vinyl I have ever come across. No surface noise whatsoever.Given the cost of vinyl, all records should be produced to this standard! The pressing of "Asleep Versions" of this album is as good.
great inner bags too! top quality through and through.
Quality pressing, virgin vinyl. Excellent mastering!
You can smell the quality of the vinyl when you take it out of the cover. The deepest and purest black vinyl material I have ever seen. It's just an amazing pressing.
The pressing quality is very good ,for me one of the best Vinyl in 2013
Could anyone comment of pressing quality, please?
Pressing quality is top-notch 180g. Sounds amazing.
fantastic atmosphere in this album
