Album

Stranger than Fiction is the eighth full-length studio album tenth release overall by American punk rock band Bad Religion, released in 1994. Stranger Than Fiction was their first album released on the major label Atlantic Records although that label re-released the previous album, Recipe for Hate, and also its last release with guitarist Brett Gurewitz, who left just prior to the album's 1994-1995 world tour, only to return to the band seven years later. On tour, Gurewitz was replaced by Brian. This year 2019 marks Bad Religions first new album in 6 years, the longest break theyve ever had between 2 records. I could write several pages covering all of the different accomplishments of the band, but Ill try to stick to a more focussed history of the most significant band members and their changes instead. Greg Hetson : In addition to Bad Religion, Greg is also a member of the classic band the Circle Jerks. Greg Joined the band when they reformed in 1985 and has been on every album until this years Age of Unreason. Brian Baker : Brian joined the band when Brett left in 1995 and has stayed with the band since. Featuring iconic cover art by Fred Hidalgo, Recipe For Hate retains the band's hallmark energy and rebellion exemplified by the classic American Jesus, but the sonic palette has been slightly expanded. With Struck A Nerve the album featured the band's first song to be played on radio since their debut seven inch. Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blond contribute guest vocals. This is also the first Bad Religion al. Bad Religion. Our new album Age Of Unreason is out May 3. Pre-Order Now at . Bad Religion - Age of Unreason. Fat Wreck Chords. Record label. Epitaph Records. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes. The Circle Jerks. Bad Religion is playing the same fast, crunchy punk they always do, with Graffin's angry but melodic, harmony-laden vocals coasting over the top. And those vocals are full of lyrics that skewer, howl, and rage about the state of the United States. Musically this is one of the more interesting songs on the album. It's got that acoustic intro, a relatively slow tempo, and a rocking guitar solo that counts as the song's catchiest bit. Big Black Dog gets a lot of mileage from its hi-hat laden disco backbeat and the guitar riff that locks in really nicely with that beat. See my body, its nothing to get hung about Im nobody except genetic runaround Spiritual eras gone, it aint coming back Bad Religion, a copout, that is all thats left Hey Mr. Mime, stop wasting my time With your factory precision Factory precision is your Bad Religion, regurgitate Indecision, its not too late Bad Religion, Bad Religion. Hey . Bad Religion painted themselves into a corner in the late '90s, adhering to the literate, hard-driving punk that marked their indie releases. That may have kept them pure, but as they grew older, they wound up repeating many of their musical ideas, while losing some of their focus. The focus, the careful production, and the group's solid, well-constructed songs result in one of the group's strongest records, while illustrating that the group can indeed grow old gracefully. And that's the most remarkable thing about The New America - it is clearly the work of a band that's been around for nearly 20 years, but the experience hasn't worn them down, it's strengthened them. Los Angeles punk pioneers Bad Religion have been playing for nearly 40 years, but they havent lost their urgency: the band just announced they will release their 17th album Age of Unreason on May 3rd on Epitaph Records an album that the band says directly addresses the perilous times the country finds itself in: The band has always stood for. The first single from the album, Chaos From Within, is a one-and-a-half minute indictment of the current American climate, singer Greg Graffin describing terror, racism, hypocrisy and fear: Threat is urgent, existential he howls
